It has been a while, but progress has been great! We did have one casualty: tat soi. Bolted. Looked like a scene from Little Shop of Horrors so it had to go.
Following a careful selection process, the garden was left in the safe hands and we headed off to Tallinn for a few days (that’s in Estonia since you ask).
It’s a beautiful city; I would highly recommend that you give it a try!
Great call on the weather front by the looks of things!
Nobody told me it would be full time job looking after a little veg plot.
Water, weed, water, canes, weed, water, move nets, train, weed, water…
Latest progress evident below:
So it has been a couple of weeks since the last garden update, including a week away / week of neglect.
Things looking good. We have already sampled some of the inherited rhubarb, and just today I hand tat soi in my sandwich.
At this rate we’ll be self-sufficient in, oooh, say 20 years!
The ‘gap’ at the end is where we just planted spinach and chard this weekend
Started the gardening in anger this weekend. Two days in a row digging weeds, planting veg, cutting grass and generally getting scratched, scraped and poisoned (well, some sort of reaction to something!).
Left hand side… Veg, trees, stuff…
Right hand side… More trees, more stuff!
Veg “close up”! Notice the *FREE* rhubarb in the background
I really hope these lads are doing a fly-by for the 1916 Rising commemorations and not because we owe people so much money!
So I am trying to fix my settings on my site – currently I can’t upload pictures.
As from my earlier posts you may notice that opening up my permissions sort of freaks me a small bit – “once bitten, twice shy”.
Anyhooo, here is a photo I took of one of Hotel Chelsea’s residents last September. I have a feeling he may still live there today.
A good couple of weeks all round:
:: Spurs reach the last eight of the Champions League
:: Spurs draw Real Madrid in the last eight of the Champions League
:: The first leg of Real Madrid v Spurs is on my birthday
If somebody could just engineer a Spurs away win as a birthday present then that would be much appreciated!
Add to that a Galway hurling victory over KK, Clarinbridge winning the All Ireland Club Championship, and finally Ireland beating England (by a decent score too!) in the 6N, well, what more could a Galway man ask for??
Apparently we Irish can play a sport known as ‘cricket’ – go figure.
What I now want to know is: do WE now play Australia in the next Ashes series instead of England?
Fair play lads, your fancy hairdos really did help bowl the maiden over!
Bring on India.
